The cool thing about shooting film is that you’re limited. It’s actually super expansive to be limited. Sometimes I have one roll of film. 16 shots.  And five minutes. And instead of crazily shooting like a mad woman, I take time, make each shot count, and come away with the fastest and most rewarding kinds of photos

This beautiful women is actually my friend. I know. I know. I’m way too uncool, but it’s the truth! Taken agains the familiar wall that makes up Gjelina restaurant in Venice, California, this shoot literally was five minutes long and one roll of film. I have to give mad props to Yan Palmer who was leading a workshop in Los Angeles and let me assist her and get these photos. I don’t do as many family photos as I would like to, but when I do, I just realize again and again how cool motherhood can be.
